Muscles, ligaments and tendons take a harsh beating during sports and from our daily grind in the urban jungle. This frequently leads to muscles knots known as trigger points that most people describe as ?tight muscles?. Ligaments and tendons also suffer minor tears leading to inflammation which cause pain and reduced mobility of the joints.
Our professional Sports Massage therapist is trained to employ specific treatment techniques such as Acu-Pressure and Active Release Technique to quickly and effectively treat these problems.
Sports Massage is an essential as part of your Pre-Race Preparation to keep muscles loose and relaxed and also for Post-Race Recovery to minimize injury and get you back into training for the next race!
Sports massage was originally developed to help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training. Today, a growing number of recreational athletes enjoy sports massage on a regular basis.
You also don?t have to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage. Sports massage is good for people with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion.
The Active Release Technique (ART) is a patented technique that is based on the fact that muscles do not work in isolation. Muscles only work properly if the surrounding connective tissue is healthy and functional, and vice versa.
ART can treat and prevent various conditions and injuries. Whether you ride for hours on a bike or sit in an office chair, have headaches, back pain, neck tightness, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow, or less well-known injuries ART is an effective way to assist with those problems. It involves moving your limb, head, or relevant body part with the assistance of the experienced therapist. You are in control of your pain tolerance and you are an active participant.
We offer physiotherapy services to evaluate, treat and manage musculo-skeletal or postural-induced conditions. This is done using specific manual treatment techniques and manipulations.
