Changes to Singapore’s National Childhood Immunization Schedule

These changes were published in the MOH Circular 27/2011 dated 11 November 2011.

Changes take effect 1st December 2011

 1. Changes to MMR schedule

Old Schedule:

1st MMR – 12 to 24 months (usually given at 15 months)

2nd MMR – 6 to 7 years

New Schedule

1st MMR – 12 months

2nd MMR – 15 to 18 months

 2. Changes to Pertussis Vaccine

Old Schedule

10 to 11 years – Tetanus Toxoid and Diphtheria Toxoid

New Schedule

10 to 11 year – Tetanus Toxoid, Diphtheria Toxoid AND Acellular Pertussis

 3. Changes to Pneumococcal Schedule

Change to using the 13-Valent Pneumococcal Vaccine instead on the 7-Valent Pneumococcal Vaccine.

Children who are currently on or have completed the course of 7-Valent Pneumococcal will need to get additional injections of the 13-Valent Vaccine. Please speak to your doctor for details.
